Where Airwallex is the stronger choice
As an all-round business account, Airwallex covers far more ground than Sentvia. It collects in 20+ currencies, sends to 200+ countries, issues corporate cards, runs expenses and bill pay, and syncs with Xero, Amazon and Shopify[1]. It also offers local AED account details[2]. Sentvia does none of the card, expense or e-commerce side. If those are what you need, Airwallex or a similar account is the better tool.
Where Sentvia is built differently
Stablecoin payments, which Airwallex doesn't support
Airwallex says it is unable to facilitate transactions for or involving cryptocurrencies or any digital currencies[3], and stablecoins are digital currencies. At Sentvia a stablecoin payment is the starting point. You request a quote, approve it so the rate is locked, and give your payer the address for that conversion. The incoming payment is screened before it is converted, and the fiat settles to your named account with a record of the quote, the rate, the transaction hash and the payout. Our guide on how to accept stablecoin payments walks through it, and larger amounts can go through the OTC desk.
Accounts in your own name, including AED
Sentvia's named IBAN accounts are in your own legal name in USD, EUR, GBP and AED, so payers and your bank see your company as the account holder. Airwallex offers local AED details too[2]. The difference is that Sentvia's sit alongside stablecoin conversion, so a USDT or USDC payment can settle straight into dirhams; see USDT to AED for how that corridor works.
A specialist, not a platform
Airwallex works at a very large scale: it says it has processed more than $287 billion in payments and supports 200+ countries[6], and it uses AI agents to provision accounts, run transfers and manage FX[1]. For many businesses, that automation is exactly the point.
Sentvia is built the other way round. It is a boutique specialist that works closely with each client. A dedicated onboarding officer learns how your business is paid before the first payment arrives, and after that you have a named contact. When a large or unusual payment needs attention, you deal with people who already know your business.
We can't match Airwallex's product range or technology, and this page doesn't pretend to. What we offer instead is attention: a team that knows stablecoin payments in the sectors general accounts are wary of, and takes the time to get each one right.
Using both
The two aren't mutually exclusive. Many businesses keep a general business account for collections, suppliers and cards, and use Sentvia when a client, buyer or counterparty wants to pay in stablecoins. The fiat lands in a named account in your own name, and from there you can pay your other accounts or approved beneficiaries.

FAQ
Common questions
- Is Sentvia an alternative to Airwallex?
- For some businesses. Airwallex is a global business account for collecting in 20+ currencies, paying out to 200+ countries, cards and spend management. Sentvia is built for one job: turning stablecoin payments into fiat in named accounts in your own name, in USD, EUR, GBP and AED, and paying out from them. Businesses that need both often use both.
- Can I receive stablecoin payments with Airwallex?
- No. Airwallex's help centre says it is unable to facilitate transactions for or involving cryptocurrencies or any digital currencies, which include stablecoins such as USDT and USDC. Sentvia is built for that case: a client pays in USDT or USDC, Sentvia converts it, and the fiat settles to a named account in your own name.
- Does Airwallex offer AED accounts?
- Yes. Airwallex lists local AED Global Accounts, received by UAE domestic transfer, with some limits on who can open them. Sentvia offers a named AED account in your own legal name, and stablecoin payments can settle straight into it.
- Why might Airwallex decline a business?
- Airwallex says a business must be registered in a country it supports, meet its industry requirements and fall within its risk appetite, and that it can't serve shell banks or bearer share entities. It also says that when a decision follows an internal review, it may be unable to disclose the specific details. Only Airwallex can say why it declined a particular application.
- Does Sentvia issue cards?
- No. Sentvia is for conversions and account payments: stablecoins to and from fiat, named IBAN accounts and payments to approved beneficiaries. If your team needs company cards and expense management, Airwallex offers them and Sentvia does not.
- Can I use Airwallex and Sentvia together?
- Yes. A common set-up is Airwallex for collecting from customers, paying suppliers abroad and company cards, and Sentvia for stablecoin payments: clients pay in USDT or USDC, Sentvia converts them, and the fiat lands in a named account in your own name, from which you can pay your other accounts.
